Honeyberry Bush ‘Aurora’ (Lonicera caerulea var. edulis)
A member of the Honeysuckle family, Honeyberry is grown for its blueberry-like fruit. Native to Russia, the small shrubs are hardy to zone 3 and are easy-to-grow with no pest or disease problems. The soft gray-green, velvet-like foliage has a spreading habit and the shrubs usually reach 3’ high and 4’ wide. The tasty, easy-to-harvest fruit looks like elongated blueberries. The fruit may be eaten fresh or frozen to enjoy later. ‘Aurora’ is a very productive variety that ripens over a long period usually mid-July to August. The large berries are easy to pick with a sweet flavor. ‘Indigo Gem’ is the cross pollinator. We also offer a Honeyberry Set: ‘Aurora' and ‘Indigo Gem’ since 2 varieties are needed for pollination.
