Senecio String of Watermelon (Senecio herreianus)
Here’s another trailing succulent that’s part of the popular “Strings” category, similar to our Bead Plant or String of Dolphins. Plump, oblong, little watermelon-shaped beads have the characteristic watermelon stripes on the leaves that darken with exposure to sunlight. In full sun, the markings are purple, and in lower light the stripes remain green. The stems cascade over the pot’s edge creating an attractive houseplant for a full sun or bright light windowsill. Be sure to dry out between waterings.
