Hummingbird Flower ‘Ruby Red’ (Bouvardia hybrid)

Fragrant clusters of brilliant, red, tubular blooms with pink throats rise up on this upright growing shrub throughout the year. A hybrid between Bouvardia longiflora and Bouvardia ternifoila, it carries the fragrance of the former and the color and vigor of the later. The fragrance is sweet and inviting being most pronounced at night. We love using ‘Ruby Red’ in a cut flower arrangement. As a container plant, it can be maintained at 2-3’ in height and takes pruning with ease. Grow in full sun for best results.
